About

Driving from Denver, Colorado to Grand Teton National Park takes about 8.5 hours. It’s a nice drive through the plains of Wyoming and you’ll  see more herds of antelope than people. Coming in from the East side of the park will also give excellent views of the Teton’s driving in. Go straight into the park to get a camping spot before going south into Jackson Hole.

Entering into the park there is a small fee. However, if you are military active duty you can receive a free one year pass. If you are disabled you can receive a free lifetime entry Access Pass. The Access Pass allows for discounted camping cost in the park.

Camping at Grand Teton National Park is on a first come, first serve basis. Jenny Lake is the most popular and offers great views of the Tetons, but spots fill up quickly. We were unable to get a spot at Jenny Lake so we traveled north to Lizard Creek Campground. The campground had bathrooms, running water, and bear lockers.

Once camp is setup, drive down to Jackson Hole and eat and drink at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar
